Mr Bernard Lynch

FRACS Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Bernard Lynch is a specialist Orthopaedic surgeon who manages sporting, traumatic, degenerative and elective conditions of the upper and lower limbs.

He has a particular interest in knee and shoulder surgery, hip replacement surgery, and bunion and toe deformity corrective surgery.

Mr Lynch has practised in the Moreland area of Melbourne since 1996, providing emergency and elective orthopaedic care to the local community and extending to the Northern and Western areas. He is well known amongst the local general practitioners and his many patients in the area.

My Lynch currently consults at the Moreland Orthopaedics and Specialist centre at 255 Moreland Road, Coburg. All consultations are by appointment only.

Scope of Practice

Mr Lynch manages many conditions including:

  1. Sporting injuries: i.e. Meniscal tears, ACL tears, Dislocations

  2. Traumatic injuries: of bones, joints, tendons, ligaments

  3. Degenerative conditions: Arthritis, Deformity, Tendon rupture

  4. Infections of bone and joint

  5. Nerve entrapment disorders: i.e. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  6. Miscellaneous condition: Bursitis, Ganglions, Contracture

Please note that Mr Lynch does not assess nor operate on spinal problems.

Knee

Common conditions treated include: meniscal and chondral tearing; anterior cruciate ligament tears; patella maltracting and dislocations; arthritis and deformity.

Common surgeries performed include: arthroscopy; anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction; patella stabilisation and realignment; knee joint replacements, including hermiarthroscopy (half replacement), total replacements, revision replacements.

Shoulder

Common conditions treated include: bursitis and subacromical impingement; rotator cuff calcium deposits; rotator cuff tears; arthritis of shoulder and the AC joint; recurrent anterior dislocations; fractures of the humerus, clavicle and shoulder joint; AC joint dislocations; frozen shoulder.

Common operations include: arthroscopy; decompression and rotator cuff repair; AC joint stabilisations and resections; shoulder joint replacements including hemiarthroplasty, total replacement, reverse replacements, and revision replacements; fracture fixation of humerus and clavicle.

Hip

Common surgeries performed include: total hip joint replacement; revision joint replacement; hemiarthroscopy joint replacement; fixation of fractures.

Mr Lynch does not perform hip arthroscopy.

Ankle/Foot

Common conditions treated include: recurrent ankle sprains and instability; fractures around the ankle; bunions and deformity of toes; fixation of fractures.

Common surgeries performed include: ankle arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction; bunion correction; toe deformity correction.

Mr Lynch does not perform ankle joint replacement surgery.
